Common Problems: Bespoke Solutions

At We Are North the goal of every initial client interaction is to set a tone of honesty and transparency – and to make it clear that everything created is for the sole purpose of achieving the customer’s goals.

This approach is embraced throughout the company and has helped build its reputation as one of honesty, integrity, and efficacy.

Honest Onboarding

The aim is to show customers that they are not alone in the problems they’re experiencing. Issues like slow back-end to front-end communication or data siloing are common – but often spelling this out to clients helps calm their nerves when approaching a project.

By setting out exactly what the problem is and framing it as something which can be solved, the We Are North  team brings a client onboard with an honest and open summary of what needs to be done.

The way that Guust and Vincent and their team lead customer interaction is by leaning into their ability to empathise with a business’ particular problems. While it sounds like a simple approach, it works. They have won a lot of business through this approach – and simplicity isn’t necessarily something championed by other software solutions experts (!).

Cutting Through Complexity

Recently, the team had the opportunity to work with NATO – in fixing what was considered a problem of some great complexity. By encouraging the client to look at the solution rather than a challenge, the team was able to focus on a clear goal.

Many other firms would have laboured on the issue itself, but once we have a fundamental understanding of an issue, we look to find a fix and in doing so create a path that clients can follow.

As Guust explains “Conversely some of our clients approach the team with a solution already in mind,” he says.

“Again, our aim is to identify the root cause of the issues that business is experiencing. There’s no point in creating a solution if you can’t understand the impact of its implementation.”

This comes from the confidence the team has in their experience – delivering and consulting on large projects. We aim to push back a little and encourage further understanding before acting.

The last thing anyone wants is to deliver a project which doesn’t actually solve the problem. That’s why we encourage our clients to trust in our expertise. These small acts of respect have made all the difference in onboarding a diverse range of businesses – and it’s an approach that is here to stay.
